COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course provides employees and supervisors with the knowledge needed to recognize, prevent, and respond to heat-related illnesses while working in outdoor environments. Participants will learn Cal/OSHA Heat Illness Prevention requirements, including employer responsibilities for providing water, shade, rest breaks, emergency response procedures, and employee training. The course also covers environmental and personal risk factors, acclimatization, high-heat procedures, recognizing the signs and symptoms of heat illness, and responding effectively to heat-related emergencies. Upon completion, participants will have a better understanding of how to protect themselves and others while maintaining compliance with California's Heat Illness Prevention Standard.
