Environmental/Safety Training CDPH Training Rules

Dear Students,

It has recently come to our attention that CDPH is no longer offering an Grace Period for Lead Continuing Education training. There is no official update from CDPH as of 10/4/21 but we feel obligated to inform our students/clients about this latest development affecting individuals applying for renewal.

With the latest change in leadership at CDPH, the new director and administrative staff have informed us and several of our students seeking re-certification, that they interpret the regulations differently than what the rest of us have interpreted them as for all of these years.

With that being said, it is important to note the following changes:

1) There is NO GRACE PERIOD and students must take their Lead Continuing Education within 2 years of their initial training date or last completed Lead Continuing course.

2) If a student's re-certification is rejected based on this new criteria, then the student must re-take the initial training and state exam to become certified again.

3) At this time, we are awaiting formal communication from CDPH to outline these new interpretations of the regulation and what the next steps will be for individuals who are affected.

It is CALINC's goal to assist those who are affected to the best of our ability.

For those who will need to re-take the initial courses, we will be offering discounted pricing for the initial courses.

Please call our office ASAP if you find yourself being affected by these latest changes and we will assist you in getting enrolled in the appropriate training.

Thank you,
